Hey there,

I kicked off my solo trip with a clear goal in mind: “This vacation, I’m going to be productive and learn while exploring amazing cities.”

But next thing I knew, I was replaying my favorite video game, Fire Emblem, during a 6-hour train ride while also listening to The Third Door audiobook.

I have to admit, I saw this as a bit of a personal loss.

When you travel, the instinct is to maximize every moment discovering new places. That means less time dedicated to learning and that makes this whole “learning while traveling” series feel a little contradictory.

If I were just working in a hotel room, I might as well be back home in France. So, what’s the solution?

I’ve realized it’s all about making the most of dead time.

Those moments that would otherwise be wasted, like commuting or waiting around. If I can turn those pockets of downtime into productive learning, that’s a win.

At the same time, I’m learning to accept that my productivity on the road won’t match what I can do when I’m fully focused on work.

These next two months will be less about grinding out work and more about personal growth and meeting incredible people across Asia’s best cities.

Honestly, I’m not the biggest fan of traveling even though I’m on the road right now. It often makes me feel like I’m not improving or pushing myself, and I tend to get a bit lazy.

But I also recognize that this solo travel opportunity might be a once-in-a-lifetime chance. So I’m going to embrace it and make the most of every experience.

Question of the week:

How do you manage your productivity when you travel ?

See you next week,

Rémy
